About Us
Marilyn began her dance training at competitive studios in southern New Hampshire, quickly excelling in ballet. She continued her training at prestigious institutions including the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and The Boston Ballet School. In 2014, she was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Alvin Ailey School’s Professional Program Summer Intensive.
Marilyn has trained and performed internationally, including appearances at the DARC Festival in Châteauroux, France, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. She began her collegiate dance studies at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance and later completed her BA in Dance at The University of Alabama, where she was honored with the Gage Bush England Award for excellence in classical ballet and choreography.
Now retired from performing, Marilyn is dedicated to training and mentoring the next generation of dancers. As the Artistic Director of Studio28, she is passionate about nurturing creativity, discipline, and confidence in every student she teaches.
Tisa McCarter

Tisa is a dynamic Dance Choreographer and Specialist who began her training at the Andover School of Ballet. She continued her dance education at Fitchburg State University, where she taught Hip Hop and Street Funk and developed student workshops featuring guest artists and choreographers.
After earning a minor in Dance and Dance Therapy, Tisa expanded her performing arts experience by appearing in productions such as La Traviata at Keene State College. Over the years, she has collaborated with notable artists including Fatima, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Fabolous, and Method Man.
Tisa has taught a wide range of classes across New England, from traditional styles to innovative formats like Cardio Movement and Fusion Hip Hop, during her time at Studio 665 Dance Studio. She has coached two competitive hip hop teams and served as the choreographer for the Boston Bandits semi-pro football team.
Currently, Tisa leads TaysArtNEmotion, a creative dance initiative focused on healing through movement. Her signature workshop, The Take Back Session, empowers participants to explore self-expression and emotional wellness through dance.
